Psalm 145:18: “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth”
Pastor Maye would like to pass this information to the congregation Regarding “40 days of Lent” and Calvary Temple Members Participation.
Calvary Temple UHCA will be participating again in the observance of 40 days of “Lent” which we will begin March 05, “Ash” Wednesday and end Easter morning. 40 days of Lent is a season of reflection and spiritual renewal, fasting, prayer, and acts of service. It’s time for us to prepare our hearts for the Easter Celebration.
Included is information forwarded by Pastor Maye regarding the “40 days of Lent”. Everyone is encouraged to pray about what they choose to give up during this Lenten season.
FYI: Ash Wednesday-March 05, we are asked to “Fast” from meat and every Friday during Lent. FYI- (broil/baked fish allowed)
Everyone is encouraged to take time to read the information so we can all be on the same page. Examples are given for other things that can be omitted in addition to pleasure foods during this time of reflection, repenting, fasting, praying, reading the word.
